Brenton Winnett, DDS
Dr. Brenton Winnett is pleased to work with Dr. Janie Brown and Par-la-Ville Dental in providing comprehensive prosthodontic care here in beautiful Bermuda. His priority in patient care has always been providing predictable and long-lasting satisfaction in the replacement of damaged or missing oral tissues. While there are many ways of achieving this according to patient need, he is devoted to evidence-based medicine and the balance of science, experience, and above all patient desire in achieving excellent patient treatment.
Originally from Kingston, Ontario, Canada, Dr. Winnett’s education began with a BSc and MSc in Physiology at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, followed by his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Winnett joined the Canadian Army during his dental education, and upon graduation served in multiple roles and locations during his time in the Royal Canadian Dental Corps, including: London, Ontario; Halifax and Shearwater Nova Scotia; East Timor, Papua New Guinea, Micronesia, Guam, and Hawaii aboard the USNS Mercy; aboard the HMCS PRESERVER in the North Atlantic; and, after post-graduate Residency in Prosthodontics at the University of Toronto, Ontario, he served in Ottawa as the Regional Prosthodontist for the Province of Ontario.
Dr. Winnett has now retired from the Canadian Army and has relocated his family and primary practice to Victoria, British Columbia. He works with Dr. John Keyes at Vancouver Island Prosthodontics when he is not in Bermuda.
Dr. Winnett is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Certified Specialist in Prosthodontics. He is the current President of the Association of Prosthodontists of Canada, and an Examiner in Prosthodontics for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. Dr. Winnett is involved in clinical research in Prosthodontics and is a co-author of academic papers published in the refereed journals Clinical Oral Implant Research and the International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants.
